10th December

Our wee unit of three headed up to Redcliffe today. Charli enjoyed getting wet, though wondered what  on earth was happening when she was getting hosed in the face (Thanksa bunch Daddy).

1st December

Today Nicola, Charli and I took a 5.30am train to the city for the BrisbaneVariety Santa fun run! Our 'Santa's little helpers' team raised over $700.00 thanks to the beautiful people we know =)

30th November

The day before our santa run, we tried our suits on for size. Beard and all, this baby stinks of cute and christmas =) So glad to have my little helper!

29th November

We all have moments! I am sure I have more than the average Jo, it's when my moments involve my child, that I worry slightly. Aunty Nicola has flown over to spoil us with her company and join us in a Santa fun run! Nearly ready to leave the house, I decide Charli needs pants, proceeding to put them on backwards, only noticing when she crawled away with a crotch on her bum. Dear.Oh.Dear!

The truck who couldn't sing

We stumbled across a wee truck while treasure hunting and it went down a treat. Little bear, is also a clever cookie, pushing the truck along the right way up (for some time anyway). A few hard bangs later, little yellow gave up on his musical ability. At least it was a bargain huh!?

The Dishwasher

This is one of Charli's favourite places. The dishwasher! I wonder if she will still feel the same way in 15 years =)

A Play Date At The Park

Oh babies! You delightful loveable little creatures, you grow far too quickly. The last time these two had a date, they barely moved at all, except for falling over kissing of course =)

Helping?

Who needs cupcakes when you have such fascinating tools! I'm not sure they taste as good though?

21st November

I have no words, just love and smiles.

Ten Months

Ten. Months. My oh my! You my cheeky, darling Charli monster keep me very busy!

You crawl FASTER
You hold on to things and walk around them such as the couch and coffee table
You like to push and pull the stools back and forth creating the most unpleasant screeching noise
You have showers and love them!
Your favourite shower toy is an empty baby wash bottle
We brush your teeth
You drink through straws
You love dancing
You have your own little language
You have had two wee friends visit from New Zealand and stay a week each
You have had six plane rides
You have 5 teeth
You are a funny wee thing, you laugh and make me laugh often
You go in childcare for an hour while I go to the gym, you love it but when I pick you up you try to trick me!
You have had conjunctivitis, and a tummy bug (from said childcare) ...which i then caught... oh children!
You LOVE sushi
You dislike orange foods...except oranges!
You my dear, have half of my heart! I love you so, so very much, that I just want to squeeze you close, pinch your cheeks, see your little nose scrunch and hear you laugh for ever! Now time is going so quickly, therefore I will just do the above daily and as long as you let me xxx
Baby, you my little champion rock your mumma's polka dot socks =D

15th November

Charli does things once, just once and she has it down packed! So after rumaging through some drawers, and leaving a trail of mess it seemed the opturtune moment to broaden her horizons and explore the unknown terrain of the kitchen cupboards. Nothing is safe now!

14th November

One day, soon i'm sure, you will no longer be able to stand under my desk. You are growing too fast!

13 November

After all of our guests left, the portacot remained 'up' to prevent Charli chewing the cord while I vaccuum. My gosh, this child! She is the funniest little creature i've ever met, distracting me with her silly smoosh faces and finding herself quite the comedian.

12th November

Now, Charli has never used a dummy. I never wanted her to have one, until one baaaaad night...and when I wanted her to take one, she absolutely flat out refused it....until now that is, when one ends up amongst the toys. Happy as larry, merrily sucking away whilst exploring. So it seems Charli likes to occasionally indulge in the dummy...but only on her terms.

8th November

One of Charli bears favourite places. If she see's that door open, whatever she is holding gets tossed or dropped and full speed ahead with a hand slapping crawl.

Monkey's be climbing

Oh, she climbs now too! I turn around and look who is in the pantry.
Yesterday there was a suitcase conveniently placed next to the coffee table. A little Charli monster assumed this was meant as a 'please use me to climb on to the table' gesture. Never underestimate a baby!

Baby Hoover

Since this cherub has starting crawling, she has also started eating anything and everything she finds on the ground/in the cupboard/any where within baby reach. Now this nutritious diet may consist of dirt, fluff, dead insects (not yet successfully consumed), paper, tissues, food crumbs and much more. Now I am not the biggest fan of my baby hoover, so the real one needs to come out much more frequently, and Charli loves it. I honestly wonder if her master plan is to pretend to eat floor treasures just so Mummy gets the vacuum out, meaning she can chase after it trying to eat the power cord and push buttons. Just tonight while we were out for tea, I saved a dead cockroach from being consumed by one infant and tackled said baby who really just wanted to eat a bobby pin. On.My.Toes!

Water at South Bank

Today my darling, we caught the train in to the city with Francis and Cooper. You drinking from a teeny water bottle at lunch which was pretty cute....however silly mummy didn't think to take the seal off so you weren't really drinking much at all, haha whoops!
You had your first play in the water at South Bank, and absolutely loved it! I can't wait to take you back there.

Busy Busy Busy

Busy, busy busy is what we have been. We had a wonderful family trip to Sydney were we celebrated Daddy's birthday as well as Aunty Nicolas 30th party. It was so lovely spending time with family and seeing Sydney for the first time, love, love loved it! The day after we arrived home from Sydney Baby bear and I flew off once again to New Zealand for Opa's 80th party. Two weeks )of family and friend filled fun) later, we came home (SICK!!!) to one Nicole and one wee Madisyn who stayed with us for a week. The day they left, one Francis and one wee Cooper arrived, that night we celebrated Grandaddy's birthday and here we are, still busy! I will post a few pictures of our travels soon, in between two babies, a Francis, some editing and spending some much needed time with my darling xxx

Nine Months

Holy smokes kid, you are nine months already! Nine months in, nine months out.
So much has changed in a month! I thought you were busy last month, by George I really had no clue!

You CRAWL
You CRAWL
You CRAWL
You can now go from lying down to sitting, crawling and standing by yourself
You now have four teeth. Two on top to match the two below.
You get in to cupboards and drawers (occasionally jamming those delicious fingers)
You hunt through our things and simply chuck whatever doesn't interest you, over your shoulder
You leave a trail of chaos behind you
You pull yourself up on everything
You get so excited about bath time, you pull yourself up on it, eagerly awaiting your dip
You love pulling out tissues and ripping them into hundreds of tiny pieces
Any spec of dirt of the floor, you want in your mouth
If I ask you not to go near or do something you crawl even faster, while making excited noises trying to make it happen before I can catch you.
You are a cheeky little monkey!
We have been on a family trip to Sydney
You laughed during turbulence on the plane
You currently absolutely loathe getting dressed, out of the bath and those horrid nappy changes
You have had a spotty rash tip to toe
You like animals and don't mind a good old lick to the face/eyeball
You went on your first merry go round with your wee friend Cooper
You have attended your Aunty Nicola's 30th in Sydney and your Opa's 80th in NZ
You pulled your babcias teeth right out of her mouth
Apparently Hi-fives are hilarious!
It has been said you look a little like Boo from Monsters Inc

On our NZ trip, I woke up in the middle of the night, to find you sitting in your cot just staring at me!
You can shake things, put your arms up, bang and dance

You my darling little cheeky baby are wonderful, I love you so much! You light up my life, everyday! Everyday is more special and more beautiful just because you are in it and I know your Daddy feels exactly the same way =)

Crawler

A little somebody crawled a little for the very first time yesterday! By golly, I was so proud and excited and Charli just wanted to get to my phone. Kids will do anything for the latest technology.

16th September 2013 - Eight Months Old

Baby you are now eight months old. It seems I have barely blinked and another month has just flown by.  You are four months away from a year and it has been eight fleeting months since your beautiful birth. Oh how you have changed since then!

You are busy busy busy
You roll and roll and roll
You can pull yourself up to a stand (and think this is the best thing ever)
You go from sitting to all fours
You go from all fours to a rock...or a face plant
You are trying so darn hard to move, It's incredibly frustrating
Your hair has grown so much, you can now sport pigtails
You like to shake your head, grinning the entire time
We have moved house
You are very vocal
You have gotten so good at eating, I am VERY impressed!
You pinch, you scratch and you pull my boob toward your mouth like a hamburger (OUCH)
We look at you constantly in amazement. We made you and you are gorgeous
You like power cords and measuring spoons
We have done a baby first aid course together
You walk while I hold your hands
You love bath time, and hate the end of it
You have started having some good naps during the day
You move around with a combination of sitting and rolling and body dragging
You give yourself tummy time...and still end up getting grumpy
You slap the highchair when you want more food
You poke Daddy's eyes, pull his beard and grab his nose (He LOVES it)
When ever Daddy comes home you laugh at him
You have tried a lemon, it made us laugh a lot... We really do love you very much!
You push food off the highchair when you are done with it
You have little baby tantrums and wave your arms in the air
You seem to warm to ladies a lot quicker then men
You have mastered the pincer grip
We have morning snuggles in bed, everyday. The best way to start the day =)

I love watching you grow my darling, but it is happening so quickly. Your'll be moving mountains in no time.
I can't wait for our moments to come, we love you to the moon and back wee one.

12th September 2013

Who's keen to take a baby to dream world, twice in one week?
We are, and it was awesome! Charli had a blast watching thrill seekers get thrown around the air (in slightly rusted contraptions), posed for some photos, and ate some 'snuck in' lunch...twice.
Even with two days of wonderful tummy in throat feeling fun, we still didn't mange to get through everything. We now require more visitors for another adventure please =)

Movement

Well, we have officially moved! I can certainly confirm that having a Charli makes relocating a little different! We love our new home and did majorirty of our nesting on Friday. Now Charli and I are slowly getting those boxes of unimportant 'things' distributed throughout the house once more. Little bear really worked hard herself during the move, teaching herself how to roll and roll and roll and pull herself to a stand! Oh boy, I need eyes at the back of my head and she isn't even crawling just yet!

Entertained

Today was surprisingly productive! My Nana and Dad came around today to help pack. I am impressed at how much we achieved and so so so thankful I had such big helpers! No doubt I would still be at my three boxes without them. Charli bear did a fantastic job supervising, ate some quiche and was incredibly entertained with my hat! Oh baby chub,  how I love it! I can't wait for summer.
Oh, and for those of you interested/dying to know, Charli finally pooped today!(It's been a hot topic for conversation) It was big, it was bad, it was four days worth of poop and it was Bryce's turn ;)
Not to purposefully go from poop to food, but I made this last night and yumm! Yet another deliciously easy sweetling! She has so many beautiful recipes, if you are in to your wholefoods...even if you are not.

Also

If you would like, come join us on Facebook, I'd love to have you! x

Pumpkin & Packing (Minus the packing)

We move on Friday! If you know me, you will know I am a last minute person. Well this wee fact and having a Charli, is going to make moving fun! Little bear has become so busy! The little one has started trying to pull herself into a stand and sitting no longer cuts the mustard. Charli wants everything in sight and if it's not close enough, she launches herself onto all fours, eventually ends up on her tummy (which she HATES) and then absolutely cracks it! This started two days ago and now, it seems every time I turn around, my little love has beached herself.

26th August 2013

Today Mummy, I'm not going to sleep. At all. All day. Not even a little. However. I am going to look absolutely gorgeous so you don't lose your mind completely!

20th August 2013

We managed to leave the house at the time we were expected to be meeting our friends. Thankfully our friends are a Mum & Bub duo as well so luckily, we were in the same (slow) boat. We spent many hours chatting about life and cooing over our babies at New Farm park in both the shade and sunshine, watching the city cats glide past on the river. Little Alex is such a gorgeous wee man! I honestly thought He and Charli could pass as brother and sister! Charli was quite funny with him, touching his face...ever so sweetly.

16th August 2013

My baby, today you are seven months old. It feels like you are becoming less and less like a baby and much more 'yourself'. You are such good fun to have around and you always know how to get a giggle out of me.

You have two teeth
You have been eating food for a month now
You feed yourself
You have your own little language
You grab, pull, eat, pinch, scratch and  touch anything you can get you wee hands on
You laugh at your Daddy alot
You giggle when we pretend to eat your side
You are ticklish
You sit up in the bath and like splashing
You have lots of thick hair on one side, and very little on the other
You love things your shouldn't really have
You have great skill at finding tags on clothes and toys
You lean forward onto you arms
You are a serious wee thing at first and once you have sussed out new people and places, you are a little clown
You have put your fingers directly into another baby's mouth, trying to grab their tongue
You like to sit and watch, taking the world in
You explore
You steady yourself when you are about to flop over
Your poo is become...rather unpleasant
You love to stand (supported)
You play the keyboard baby style
You still love boobie
You laugh so hard when daddy rubs his beard on your feet

We love you so very much little one. Thank you for making us laugh and love, everyday xxx

14th August 2013

Public holidays mean Daddy is home! Charli was giggling her heart out this morning having cuddles and playtime with her Daddy.
We met Some very special people at the boat club for lunch and headed to the park for a play and out came the camera. Bryce put Charli on the baby slide for the first time. The poor child wasn't sure what was going on!
A BBQ picnic was planned in the afternoon with our newest kiwi immigrants. It turned out to be the biggest fail. It was incredibly hot all day today, except when and where we set up to picnic. Wind and goosebumps sums it up fairly well. We had Charli bear wrapped up tight in a blanket and bits and pieces flying everywhere. Needless to say, it was the quickest picnic I have ever been on.

9th August 2013

What's house hunting without swinging by the park?

6th August 2013

Oh baby! Your Nan left us today! Everyone always leaves! I wish they could stay! I wish all of our favourite people could move over and be more involved in your life, in our lives. Some times I think we should be back in New Zealand, but it doesn't make sense at this point in our lives. For now, you have us!  For now, there are phones, computers and planes and maybe one day we can all be close again. For now we just have to love the pants off you, visit and have visitors. For now we have adventures to go on and home to call often. Baby, I want you to know you are loved. Loved by more than just Daddy and I. Loved so very, very much.

4th August 2013

Charli baby, you have two very mean, very sharp, very naughty little teeth that have now cut through your gums. You didn't enjoy getting them one bit! (I can't say we did either). We went to Shorncliffe today and you cried the whole way back. Nan tried everything to make it all better but no such luck. Of course, you fell asleep just as we were coming in to our street.

3rd August 2013

Today we had Sushi, I did some baby baking (rusks and BLW cookies not the actual baking of babies) and then you had your first music lesson!
You have two little white lumps on your bottom gum. you are not the happiest of campers and tonight you screamed and screamed and out came tears (you had your first tears last night). Watery things, fuelled by pain and frustration. Coming from your eyes, wetting your cheeks and breaking my heart. Nothing could distract you, nothing would stop the pain. Nothing. Nothing until I took your little pants off. You my darling, are a very happy rudie bum!

1st August 2013

Charli's Nan arrived from NZ today, after I successfully managed to make it to the airport.
Leaving the airport was not as successful… I lost the car. We found it eventually after several floors and lift rides later. I felt like I was losing it!
Charli bear has recently been able to sit in the bath with out slip slopping about. We finally invested in a non slip bath mat and WOW what a difference, we no longer have a slippery slimy baby but one that sits and slaps the water, having the time of her life.

30th July 2013

Charli had her very first experience at lollipops playland with Mums group today. We decided it would be a marvellous idea to take our babies into the ball pit…Charli didn't agree (neither did the poor little crying boy who tried climbing up the slide for 10minutes because his landing pit was filled with mums and bubs). At Lollipops, there are children everywhere, that combined with loud music and lots of colour…it's an intense place…even for me…for a tired baby, I think it would seem pretty darn overwhelming So home for a nap we went.

29th July 2013
