16th January 14 ' A Smashing Birthday'

 

 

  

 

 

 It has been,

One year of breastfeeding
One year of broken sleep
One year since I gave birth to you
One year since I had absolutely no clue
One whole year filled with you
Time has just flown by us and I wouldn't change a thing, you glorious little being!

Today you had your very first birthday cake, in cake smashing fashion of course!
You couldn't beleive your luck when nobody stopped you tucking into something this delicious!
You stuffed cake in and around your mouth, you clapped and laughed in between mouthfuls and decided your feet could do with a taste too.  It was the funniest, most gorgeous thing I have seen.
Happy birthday my beautiful little darling, I love you!

You have had your first Christmas
You have had eight plane rides
You can now say cat, and dog
You put phones up to your ear and say hello
You shake your head when you dont want something
You give cuddles and kisses
You say ta in the cutest little voice when you want something or you want to give it away
You scream ta if you want something and you are not getting it
You have taken more steps, you squat and stand unasisted alot
You have been scratched by a cat
You have petted donkeys, lamas and goats
You get grumpy when you are hungry
You have spent a night away from us with Oma and without boobie
You love playing with daddy and riding on his shoulders
You sleep on your tummy with your bum in the air
You throw yourself back in absolute misery when occassion calls for it
You play peak a boo by lifting blankets in front off your face
You get so excited when taking steps that your top half moves faster than your feet
You love to hold onto little travel kit bottles, they are the perfect fit
You 'lodi lodi lodi lol' a lot and it is just the cutest thing
You think running (crawling) away naked at bath time is absolutely hilarious!
You are such a happy little camper, you make me laugh everyday and you mean more to me than I could ever express.

Ten Months

Ten. Months. My oh my! You my cheeky, darling Charli monster keep me very busy!

You crawl FASTER
You hold on to things and walk around them such as the couch and coffee table
You like to push and pull the stools back and forth creating the most unpleasant screeching noise
You have showers and love them!
Your favourite shower toy is an empty baby wash bottle
We brush your teeth
You drink through straws
You love dancing
You have your own little language
You have had two wee friends visit from New Zealand and stay a week each
You have had six plane rides
You have 5 teeth
You are a funny wee thing, you laugh and make me laugh often
You go in childcare for an hour while I go to the gym, you love it but when I pick you up you try to trick me!
You have had conjunctivitis, and a tummy bug (from said childcare) ...which i then caught... oh children!
You LOVE sushi
You dislike orange foods...except oranges!
You my dear, have half of my heart! I love you so, so very much, that I just want to squeeze you close, pinch your cheeks, see your little nose scrunch and hear you laugh for ever! Now time is going so quickly, therefore I will just do the above daily and as long as you let me xxx

Nine Months

Holy smokes kid, you are nine months already! Nine months in, nine months out.
So much has changed in a month! I thought you were busy last month, by George I really had no clue!

You CRAWL

You can now go from lying down to sitting, crawling and standing by yourself
You now have four teeth. Two on top to match the two below.
You get in to cupboards and drawers (occasionally jamming those delicious fingers)
You hunt through our things and simply chuck whatever doesn't interest you, over your shoulder
You leave a trail of chaos behind you
You pull yourself up on everything
You get so excited about bath time, you pull yourself up on it, eagerly awaiting your dip
You love pulling out tissues and ripping them into hundreds of tiny pieces
Any spec of dirt of the floor, you want in your mouth
If I ask you not to go near or do something you crawl even faster, while making excited noises trying to make it happen before I can catch you.
You are a cheeky little monkey!
We have been on a family trip to Sydney
You laughed during turbulence on the plane
You currently absolutely loathe getting dressed, out of the bath and those horrid nappy changes
You have had a spotty rash tip to toe
You like animals and don't mind a good old lick to the face/eyeball
You went on your first merry go round with your wee friend Cooper
You have attended your Aunty Nicola's 30th in Sydney and your Opa's 80th in NZ
You pulled your babcias teeth right out of her mouth
Apparently Hi-fives are hilarious!
It has been said you look a little like Boo from Monsters Inc

On our NZ trip, I woke up in the middle of the night, to find you sitting in your cot just staring at me!

You can shake things, put your arms up, bang and dance

You my darling little cheeky baby are wonderful, I love you so much! You light up my life, everyday! Everyday is more special and more beautiful just because you are in it and I know your Daddy feels exactly the same way =) 

16th September 2013 - Eight Months Old

Baby you are now eight months old. It seems I have barely blinked and another month has just flown by.  You are four months away from a year and it has been eight fleeting months since your beautiful birth. Oh how you have changed since then!

You are busy busy busy

You roll and roll and roll

You can pull yourself up to a stand (and think this is the best thing ever)

You go from sitting to all fours

You go from all fours to a rock...or a face plant

You are trying so darn hard to move, It's incredibly frustrating

Your hair has grown so much, you can now sport pigtails

You like to shake your head, grinning the entire time

We have moved house

You are very vocal

You have gotten so good at eating, I am VERY impressed!

You pinch, you scratch and you pull my boob toward your mouth like a hamburger (OUCH)

We look at you constantly in amazement. We made you and you are gorgeous

You like power cords and measuring spoons

We have done a baby first aid course together

You walk while I hold your hands

You love bath time, and hate the end of it

You have started having some good naps during the day

You move around with a combination of sitting and rolling and body dragging

You give yourself tummy time...and still end up getting grumpy

You slap the highchair when you want more food

You poke Daddy's eyes, pull his beard and grab his nose (He LOVES it)

When ever Daddy comes home you laugh at him

You have tried a lemon, it made us laugh a lot... We really do love you very much!

You push food off the highchair when you are done with it

You have little baby tantrums and wave your arms in the air

You seem to warm to ladies a lot quicker then men

You have mastered the pincer grip

We have morning snuggles in bed, everyday. The best way to start the day =)

I love watching you grow my darling, but it is happening so quickly. Your'll be moving mountains in no time. 

I can't wait for our moments to come, we love you to the moon and back wee one. 

6 Months Old (Thats half a whole year!)

I was running ahead of schedule this morning for Charli's 6 month health check. So with 15 minutes up my sleeve, I decided a costume change could indeed be performed...and heck why not a nappy change while i'm at it. Once the nappy came off, I saw the beginnings of nappy rash so out came the blow dryer. While I was blowing away, Chari bear gave me the biggest grin and decided now would be the ideal time for a pee. Yes pee went absolutely everywhere. It was blown all over Charli (tip to toe), the change table, the floor and there was nothing but giggles (and wee everywhere)  followed by the worlds quickest bucket bath. Needless to say, we were late.

Charli baby, today you are half a year old! 6 months of breastfeeding, 6 months of waking up at all hours, 6 months of awesome, 6 months of wonderful you and not one tear shed!

You have grown so incredibly fast

You are doing baby led weaning

You have tried (in orderish) zucchini, banana, avocado, porridge, sushi, roast tomato, watermelon, toast, pumpkin, curry, cucumber, and pear

You lie on the ground laughing at yourself

You grab everything!!!

You want to touch everyone's face

Your hair goes in a pineapple ponytail

You have been in a car accident

You have a furbrother from another mother

You think your sneezes and coughs are funny

You give me the biggest smiles when you wake up

You like to sit up to play and sit up in the pram to watch the world

You still like to rock back and forth excitedly

You shake toys and smack them down on the highchair

You have a very serious concentrating face

You have started to move your legs in a crawling motion (however you are still face planting while doing so)
You scratch and pinch me so I had to invest in a special necklace for you to play with

You can push up on your arms although you still hate tummy time
You pull on Daddys beard

You have the best Aunties, Uncles and grandparents in the world!

You love bathtime with Daddy

You are taller than 'average' in height

You squeal, laugh, and chat lots and loudly

You have just started to figure out to put your arms out to be picked up

You are very interest in toys now...well interested in everything you can grab

You are getting cheekier, happier,and Charlier every day!
Your blog has had over 6,000 page views

You have been out of my body and in my arms for half a year now and it is such an incredible journey. Watching you grow and learn is the most beautiful thing. Sharing life with you is bliss.

Happy Five Months!

Baby girl you have been (out) on earth for five months now. Time has flown by even though some days and nights have been long. You have made our lives richer and more colourful in ways that could never of been without you. We love watching you grow, learn and become more you. 

You are wonderful!

You are getting so good at sitting upright this last fortnight you have gone from sitting upright by yourself by leaning on your tummy to pretty much being able to sit with very little help
You love sitting up, if you are not straight enough you will grab hold of what ever you can reach and pull yourself straight up.
You like to push up and stand, your feet flat and strong
There have been countless amounts of poo leakages, some have said it's because we are vegetarian, (I'm not sure how accurate this theory is)
Still no rolling over, just on to your side and then you try with all of your might to lift your body over your shoulder
You chew your thumb, and suck your fingers
You laugh lots now, I do my best to make you laugh everyday now you know how

You have recently began making cow like noises when you are excited/want milk/are rocking

You play with your tongue and blow bubbles
You can squeal, giggle, rock back and forth while sitting, laugh, blow raspberries and be awesome

We now have two doggies who love to give you little licks and you just stare at them

You have just started saying lots of 'M' sounds it sounds like  'MUM' or 'mum, mum, mum' but I don't think you know what you are saying

You can sit in a highchair, you think this is pretty cool. We are currently on a quest to find you one

You wear an amber teething necklace

Your sleep spots aka bald patches are quite noticable

You sit on my hip

You have outgrown the infant insert for the Ergo

You play with both of your feet

You have started pulling at your socks

You grab at lots of things now, especially my phone and Daddy's beard

 You have big baths

When on your tummy you move your legs and push your bum into the air

You wiggle around on the floor with no pants on and pee where you are not meant to

 You are sleeping in your big bed and are no longer swaddled. You love to starfish.

I honestly believe one of your first words may be 'whoops'

Four Months Old

Waking up in Levin with my darling on one side and my wee one on the other was so nice! Especially when you have a male heater to keep the bed toasty in this chilly country. 

We visited Bryce's Uncle and then headed up to Palmy to see my Mum (at work). After Mum got her Charli fix we went to the plaza so Bryce could replenish his winter wardrobe and we got our fix of Burger Fuel. Oh how I have missed you!

In other more exciting news, Little bear is four months old today.

My little cheeky darling the last four months have been wonderful. With your cheekiness and chatter, you definitely are our little girl.

You now weigh just over 7kilos (Turns out the sales were wrong here)

Since we have been in New Zealand you have learnt how to squeal (I wasn't overly enthused about this) 

Last week we caught you sucking your little thumb, which now occasionally makes its way into your mouth
Some times when you grizzle, you sound like you are saying Mum. To young to talk?

You have been on a plane, you were amazing and kindly slept most of the way (thank you thank you thank you)

You have now met many more wonderful people that are very special to us, and you to them

You have touched faces with a horse, had a mouthful of grass and lay in the autumn leaves

You are getting smilier and smilier my happy, chatting little girl

You have giggled a few times, laughed once and still get fidgety when you're excited

You have learnt to jump in a jolly jumper which you love (even though it makes you spew)

If a tv is on or there is a fire going, you do everything in your power to look at it
Oma(Great Oma) put orange juice in your mouth when I wasn't looking, thankfully you didn't like it!

You are touching and grabbing things a lot more now

We hold hands while you nurse
You are rolling on your side a lot

You like sitting up right, and you have become quite curious

You still love when I kiss your yummy little face

Happy Three Months

We had a Mummy's group picnic under the tree on the foreshore. 

Charli fell asleep in my arms twice today. Little bear has been far too busy taking the world in lately, and hasn't slept on me for what feels like forever. It was so lovely. That little lip tucked in just makes me want to eat her face!

Three months old today.

5.96kg & 61cm

You have started blowing little saliva bubbles 

You have quite the dislike for sleeves

You can now purposely put your fists in your mouth

You roll on to your side

You still don't like tummy time

You wear cloth nappies and sometimes you don't

You think the baby in the mirror is pretty spectacular ( then again, so do I)

You make sure everyone is aware that you are pooping (complete with facials and sound effects)

You smile a lot (just not for the camera)

You get called Charli Bear and Puppy (sorry baby)

When you get all excited, you jiggle around making the cutest noises 

You like to supervise me from your bouncer

You get sticky little hands and feet

Your sticky hands and feet still collect fluff

You can fall asleep yourself, though sometimes you prefer to nurse 

When we are out and really should be sleeping you prefer to see whats going on...but then you get cranky. I guess the world is pretty overwhelming!

Your hair is getting longer and less spiky (though you will always be a little rockstar in my eyes)

You love to chat away, your cooing makes my heart swell

You have started working your hands and trying to grab hanging toys

You wiggle around in 360's on the floor
You sight see or sleep while I walk
I can see your teeth through your gums

You sleep right next to me in your little bed

There are regular poosplosions
We do Mum & Bub yoga

You like to sit up on our laps or the couch

You stand and folk dance when I hold you up
You have been on your first boat

You put up with me kissing your face, a lot! - You even smile while I'm doing it

You let me sleep in while you nurse, chat and nap next to me

Your eyes were blue, they are currently looking more hazel
You are a officially a New Zealander
You make me want to have more babies

You are my absolute favourite little person, my gorgeous cheeky girl. 

You make life messier, happier, and more beautiful. Everyday.

My Two Most Favourite People

Charli, you are two months old. 

You smile when I sing to you

The change table is one of your favourite places

You can roll from your tummy to your back

You don't really like tummy time

You only relax your hands when you are sleeping, the rest of the time you collect fluff in your tiny fists

You prefer to face the wall when you sleep

You wake between two and four times from 7pm to 7am

You talk to us and make happy little squeals

You have had your first vaccinations which made your eyes water for the first time

You are swaddled, bounced, rocked and patted

You have met your Grandparents and your Aunty Nicola, you have many many more people to meet

You are currently a citizen of nowhere, but will soon be a little kiwi

The first book I read to you was Peter Rabbit

You and your Daddy are my two most favourite people

I believe you have found your lungs, you are a little noisier now

You have been on a train and to the movies

Your hair sticks up at the top 

You have been licked by a dog and had rain on your face

You create a lot of washing

You love cuddles and showers with Mummy and Daddy
