'Lucky People' 1st March 2014

 

 Despite the last picture, these little people love hanging out together! Just as well, because I really like hanging out with this wee man and his Mum. What luck we had, to have crossed paths when we did, these two were just hiding in our bellies and I couldn't imagine what is now before my eyes =)

'Two Friends' 31st January 2014

Two little girls belonging to two friends in the place we grew up.  Nicole and I have been friends since we were 13. We lived at each others houses, shared beds and adventures, slept days away and stayed up all night. We were partners in mischief and most things and were there for each other through the good, bad, and embarrassing. She is such a beautiful woman who has made a gorgeous wee girl to share this journey of life with. Now we both have new little people who keep us very busy with mischief and most things, but despite living in different countries, we are still wonderful friends. I am so glad our little people get to grow up together, even though they are apart. Friends are such a beautiful part of life,  I only hope Charli has friends as wonderful as I do.

A Play Date At The Park

Oh babies! You delightful loveable little creatures, you grow far too quickly. The last time these two had a date, they barely moved at all, except for falling over kissing of course =)

Oh baby! Your Nan left us today! Everyone always leaves! I wish they could stay! I wish all of our favourite people could move over and be more involved in your life, in our lives. Some times I think we should be back in New Zealand, but it doesn't make sense at this point in our lives. For now, you have us!  For now, there are phones, computers and planes and maybe one day we can all be close again. For now we just have to love the pants off you, visit and have visitors. For now we have adventures to go on and home to call often. Baby, I want you to know you are loved. Loved by more than just Daddy and I. Loved so very, very much.

4th August 2013

Charli baby, you have two very mean, very sharp, very naughty little teeth that have now cut through your gums. You didn't enjoy getting them one bit! (I can't say we did either). We went to Shorncliffe today and you cried the whole way back. Nan tried everything to make it all better but no such luck. Of course, you fell asleep just as we were coming in to our street.

Two Charli's

We had lots of visitors today. Little bear has never seen so many faces.

Aunty's and uncles, cousins, children, lovely ladies and family friends, what a treat. Charli smiled, yelled and spewed and had to have several naps to take a break from being the centre of attention. 

At once stage we had two gorgeous little Charli's in one room. One with blonde curls the other a duck face, I am fairly certain the definition of Charli must be 'cute'.

Five Ladies, Four Babies & Dinner

Dinner at Sam's was gorgeous. There were four little cherubs of various ages, running, toddling, crawling and starfishing around. There were vintage floral tea cups and plates (My fav!), cupcakes, five gorgeous ladies and lots of yummy food! Little bear and I are so incredibly spoilt with lovely people! The lounge looked like a day care centre and it was adorable, this was a clear indicator that times have certainly changed. Gone are the days of the 'classy' cheese and wine nights or just the downright smashing of our sober cells, It has become very clear that we are growing up! 

Life happens and it is wonderful =) 

Uncle J-Bird

Charli had the worlds biggest sleep in, so when she woke we went and woke up her Uncle J-Bird by sitting on him. You can hardly get grumpy at a baby =). It was great, Josh kept Charli impressed while I showered, went on a washing-chopping-freezing rampage and made a not so delicious green smoothie.

Little Bear met Jess, and then the small one and I went to a gorgeous potluck dinner with my lovely lady friends who I have missed so much! Five ladies, four babies and dinner.

Charli Meets Cooper

Our first full day back in New Zealand was lovely. This glorious country seems to have left the heater on for us, and I am not complaining!

My friend Francis came around with her gorgeous little energizer baby Cooper (who is four months older than Charli). We went out as two ladies and two babies looking for shoes. We accidentally bumped in to more lovely people, and had ourselves a little bit of a coffee club. (Yes the coffee is much, much MUCH better over here). 

I put baby bear down on the grass with Coops and took some snaps of two little friends. In Aussie there really are too many bugs and scary bitey ants to do this, so it was quite exciting. We had some very cheeky little faces from the Bear in the grass but this little bit of love was too cute! 

My beautiful Aunty and Uncle Grey Grey came to let me borrow a vehicle from their collection and meet Charli. I swear all the people I know are just so lovely, giving and helpful! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! 

Mexican Fush

Today being a public holiday (Lest we forget) meant the stores were closed... guess who ran out of nappies! Lucky we have Mums group, we were quickly informed of a shop that would be open and had several offers of nappy donations. Such lovely ladies I know!

After the nappy issue was solved,we hopped in the car and drove to Caboolture today to visit two lovely darlings known as Shari & Shawn. Yet again we were spoilt to a delicious feast of Mexican goodness, lots of love and even dessert! I got kitten & doggy cuddles, Shari got Charli cuddles (as well as spewed on) and Charli Bear got to check out little fishes for the first time. 

Sourced Grocer

This morning I was giving Charli an Aeroplane ride right above my head and you guessed it, she spewed. It had to happen sometime, right?

Charli Bear and I met up with our lovely friend Marine (She is a student midwife and was with us as Bear came into the world). In order to get from A to B, I braved these wild Australian roads and drove to Sourced Grocer in New Farm for our lunch date. Golly it was worth the test drive with Bryce a few weekends ago. The food was incredible, I had marvellous company and a very smiley bear. 

On A Boat

It was Charli's very first time on a boat today. We didn't go anywhere, simply visiting grandaddy at his favourite place. I can't wait to go out on a trip! We just have to get a baby life jacket and eventually get on to swimming classes for little Bear (also very exciting). After a tired pup made it very clear she was ready for bed, we left to visit Nana and Uncle Diesel. Charli fell asleep on the way and Bryce and I were treated to another home cooked meal. Two nights in a row- this is the life!

Got Milk?

Today us 'grown ups' had sushi train, coffee, and a wee shop at Carindale while Charli slept. Little bear woke up just in time to make mummy get her boobs out at the supermarket...I couldn't help myself and asked Bryce to get a photo of me feeding her in front of the milk Isle ;)

It's so lovely having Nicola stay with us. Charli now gives out plenty of smiles and a lot less spew compared to the last time she was here.

Since we are where the sunshine is, we can't say it in person. Here's a BIG happy birthday to Charli's Uncle Darren xxx

Shooting Charli

This morning some of yesterdays grumpiness must have been left over as I had a grizzly bear from 6am-9am then Charli finally went to sleep. I got to make bliss balls (thank you Nicola) and start dinner, yes you heard right, start dinner at 10.00am. When the Bear woke up we went to our friend Nicole's house and then on a mission to get Charli's passport photos done. Oh my goodness! What a mission. The lady obviously didn't have very good people/camera skills as she was saying really inappropriate things that I am sure any mother would like to give her a little smack for. It started with calling a baby in pink a him and then went on to "She's being a snob', 'look at that stuck up nose' (Camera looking up her nose), 'I think one of her ears is flatter than the other' (Camera more to one side), I just held my tongue and let her do her job and we finally got a picture YAY!!! The incredible thing about passport photos is that somehow they even manage to make a baby look like a hardened criminal.

Nana

Bryce had to work today so Charli Bear and I left the house early and spent the whole day with Nana. 

It was so lovely to spend some quality, relaxed time with Nana and just 'be' there. I think Nana enjoyed having lots of little bear hugs and Diesel (The Dog) enjoyed getting a few sneaky licks of Charli.
While we were there I was able to print of forms to get our little citizen of 'nowhere' a country to belong to and a passport.

When Charli Met Oma

My beautiful mum came over to help out and have cuddles with our Charli for two weeks ( 20.01.13 - 02.02.13) a few days after she was born. There were tears upon meeting her grand daughter for the first time, it was quite beautiful. Charli, Mum and I went on our very first outing together at 7 days new, Charli visited the Dr and went to her first cafe and the supermarket. The gorgeous little bear slept most of the time, meaning this mummy didn't have to get her boobies out in public (this was some relief for the breast feeding rookie). Mum cleaned, cooked, cuddled and cooed, I don't know what we would of done without her! Time went so quickly and now she is back home in New Zealand (Oh how the laundry stacked up after left!). I hope she misses us terribly and decides to move, I am waiting ever so patiently for her to come to this realisation and shimmy on over.
